I've never seen so many stretch marks in one place. Listen, I'm not usually judgemental. Hell, I got a bit of a stomach on me, but I do think that some self governing was lost there at the Ren Fest. There were many women three to four times my girth wearning 3 to 4 times LESS clothing than I was. The Ren Fest is no excuse to show everyone what you got. You don't have to flaunt it. I know 99.99% of the year you don't, but damn, don't go completely AWOL and wear a string bikini if you are 5' and 300lbs. Really. Did I take any images to prove this? No. Why would I? Just go any given weekend and you'll see these people about.

Is it shallow to say such things? Maybe. Do I care if it is? No.

So if you know someone going to a Renaissance Festival, please be the voice of reason to them!!

Frog vs. Bug

So this is one of those iPhone videos that was made while I was drunk. I was incredibly awed that nature in the raw form was happening in front of my drunken eyes. The bug literally stood no chance. Crazy huh?

What seems hard for me to figure out is why this video has so many views. I can only guess is because it involves a quick mustang. Certainly not because it has a boosted tC in it. Sure isn't because of my subpar driving. I don't know, but it's got more than 18,000 views. Crazy, I know.

Life Passing You By

I know we all get the feeling that life has been passing us by. Leaving us at the way side while interesting things happen to more interesting people. Although is nothing like that in reality, our mostly imprefect brains can't help but think that. How weird is that? Think about it. We have the most advanced brain that nature has been able to produce, yet look at the multitude of aliments that still inflict the modern brain. I digress...

Life abound and all around. Even sitting at your computer reading this life passes infront of you. I never understood the saying really. I am life. Without me and other people, what we precieve as life wouldn't exist to pass by. If you're bent on that saying meaning something, then you're the only reason it's passing by. It's not hard to get out and experience all that this world has to offer. Seeing all that I have, having walked most of the continents on this planet, I can say that life doesn't pass anyone by because we are the life that is meant.

The Fight

When I was younger, I didn't care much if I got hurt or not. To fight with another human never really appealed to me. The idea of boxing doesn't thrill me. UFC is boring. A got in a few fights when I was growing up but nothing memorable. Now that I am older, the idea of fighting is very very dangerous. Getting hurt from anything, can seriously hinder my life, and the life of those that depend on me. The reason I give this thought, is because recently I saw two men lose their lively hood over a very stupid reason. Of course, alcohol is a factor. I don't really feel sorry for them. I feel sorrow for their families that now are filled with worry about hard times to come. Maybe it'll be like that, may be it won't. I know I could not face my wife with the news that our family is now in trouble due to my own actions.... Just a thought anyways.

PS Mobile & External HDD

So I've been messing around with PS Mobile on my iPhone. This particular picture was photoshopped twice. I first messed with it in the free Paint.NET and then PS Mobile (Photoshop Mobile app). In Paint.NET I messed with the contrast, saturation, and used a filter to turned it into a colored pencil drawing. After I got in on my iPhone, I opened it up in PS Mobile. From there I turned it Black&White and in another version, I added a boarder. I use the picture now as her profile picture in my contact list. Personally, I love this picture even more now. I find the lack of color can be a stronger photo element than color, depending on the composition and subject.

Of course, after doing all this post production work, it would suck to lose it to a hard drive failure. After I got the Wifes laptop infected, I was incredibly happy my bud Barrett got me an external hard drive. Transferred all her critical files and then boom, after setting up Vista again, put her files back on and it was mostly like nothing happened. On that same note, having your information written to DVDs is even better. Going to take a few days, but all our information (including all the photos, videos, and documents). Back up your stuff! Storage is cheap, replacing your photos of your life gone by, is not.

The Bullshitaky

No matter what your job is there is always going to be bullshitaky that you are gonna have to deal with. I hope that the next job I have, whenever that's going to be, doesn't have as much crap to deal with. Or if there is, I'll be paid more more to deal with said bullshitaky. At ther times, I'm astounded at the crap that comes out of my upper management. Why you ask? Because it's almost all Men. Yes, it may be sexiest, but I held the belief that because there were next to no women on site there would be less crap and or gossip. I have learned the quite the opposite is true. Gossip, and especially bullshitaky, is worse when it's just men about. I'm not sure why, but that's just how it is. They whine about everything much more than women, albeit maybe in private. I'm guilty of it at times as well, which is why I know it's all the more true.

Technological Status Symbol

So I was walking Orchard Rd. yesterday. What was different this day was that I had a nice Nikon D90 in my hands. I was being observant to my surroundings. I wanted to search for shots that would accent the D90's auto mode w/flash @ various mm. Well, as I walked about being visulent as ever I noticed I was getting stared at WAY more than normal. Being of average height in the U.S. means above average in Asia. I noticed more women staring longer than the normal few seconds, but instead of it being on my face like normal, their gaze would drop to my camera followed by a smirk or smile or something that means approved or not. Their eyes would linger longer on my camera than my face. Odd. I thought about this for awhile. As I have pointed out before, Asians love technology. I think it has gotten to the point of cameras and cell phones being symbols of wealth. The more expensive the cell phone, the bigger the lens on that Canon or Nikon, obviously, the more wealth you have. Atleast, I believe this to be the line of reasoning.

Yesterday while I walked it was very noticeable. There were lenses a foot in diameter. Flashes two feet tall that required their own power supply. Extreme close ups. That equipment was overkill. It was incredible. The fierce competition for a shot was rather silly. The people here have no consideration for any picture you are trying to take. I think this may be more because everyone here loves to be in the picture. Women more so than men. Most men that have a camera push their women to be the subject, although they don't have to push hard

Which brings me to the next point. Why is it Asians like pitting the peace symbol against the photographer? If they weren't doing that, it was doing something that was more than just standing for a picture. I understand if it was for a certain surrounding but this all the time everywhere. It's not just here in Asia. I have seen as much in the U.S. It's akin to the White Chicks and Gangsigns epidemic we have been experiencing since the early 2000s.
